Wireless Home Theater
Wireless home theater speakers are a great way to keep exposed cords and wires to a minimum. One of the biggest complaints about having a surround sound speaker set-up is that there are inevitably stray cords spanning the floor and/or ceiling. Aside from the dangers of tripping once the lights are turned off, these cords also tend to distract from an otherwise well thought out home theater.
Many wireless home theater speakers are ready to go, right out of the box. In most cases you simply plug them in (most require a power supply), turn them on, and they’re ready to receive input from the receiver. The reason they require a power supply is because the signal needs to be amplified first, and these speakers contain built in amps for just this reason.
For most people, wireless home theater speakers will be of the “add-on” variety. This means that the speakers are added to an existing receiver/amplifier. However, many new homeowners have an integrated wireless system built into the design of the home.
